Coming out of anaesthesia, Chloe was a little loopy and confused. Poor thing. She cried and was uncomfortable for about 30 minutes. When she complained about hunger, the nurse quickly got her a popsicle. After her third popsicle, momma suggested that Chloe finish her juice. Chloe and I waited for Dadda to bring the car around so we wouldn't get wet in the rain. Chloe was still a little bit loopy, but content. She was pretty happy by the time we got home and she ate some ice cream. All in all, Chloe Jean Ju had a positive experience with surgery.
My name is Sandy and I came across your post by googling Thyroglossal Duct Cyst. My 16 month old daughter may also have this and I understand that surgical removal is necessary and I'm fine with that. I'm sorry to comment to such an old post, but I was curious about the size of Chloe's incision, the scarring and the healing process. We are also Chinese and I know that Asians are more prone to keloid scars. From what I can tell from Chloe's recent pics (by the way, she is adorable and reminds me a little of me at that age :) ) I can't see the scar at all. Has her scar faded at all? Is it keloid?
My doctor said the incision would be about 3 inches, which seems huge compared to the size of my daughter's neck.
Any comments would be so much appreciated! I also have a 3 year old... aren't they fun at this age??? :)
